1. Power LED

  • Solid Green: Power On
  • Solid Amber: Router/Satellite is rebooting
  • Blinking Amber: Satellite is resetting to default factory settings
  • Blinking Red: Firmware Corrupted

2. Router Ring LED

  • Solid White: Router Booting
  • When No Light: Router is operating normally and has finished booting
  • Blinking White: Router resetting to factory settings
  • Blinking Amber: Router unable to connect to the internet
  • Blinking Blue/Magenta: Internet Limit reached

Step 1: Connect the Ethernet cable (RJ-45) from your modem or an existing router to the Orbi router.

Step 2: Power on the Netgear Orbi router.

Step 3: Press the on button and look at the LED blink.

Step 4: See if the internet LED is still blinking.

  • Using a Web Browser

You can visit the site orbilogin.net on your system, or additionally, you can also proceed to the IP address: 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1, which will open the default login page for your router. Here, it would help if you input the username and password. Usually, the credentials are:

  • Login Username: admin
  • Login Password: password

How to Change the Netgear Orbi Router Admin Login Details

Step 1: Open your preferred web browser and input the URL http://orbilogin.com.

Step 2: Enter the username and password and click on Log In.

  • Login Username: admin

Step 1: Open a web browser using the system connected to the Netgear Orbi router.

Step 2: Enter the URL orbilogin.com to open the default gateway.

Step 3: Enter the login credentials:

  • Login Username: username
  • Login Password: password

Step 4: In the admin login page, select Add Orbi Satellite. This will take you to the “place your satellite” page.

Step 5: On that page, follow the instructions to select the best place to set up your satellite.

Step 6: Connect the satellite to the power source and press the On/Off button.

Step 7: Wait until the satellite’s ring turns Solid White, Press the Sync button on the satellite so that the white color blinks.

Step 8: On the web interface, click on the sync button, which makes the router sync with the satellite.

Step 9: Satellite’s ring LED may emit either of the three colors: Blue, Amber, Magenta.


How to Reset the Netgear Orbi Router

To reset the Orbi router, you will need a sharp-pointed pin like a paper clip. Remember, resetting the router will erase all the past data like username, password, SSID.

  • Power On the Netgear Orbi router.
  • Take the paper clip and press and hold the Reset button unless the Power LED blinks amber. If you are resetting an add-on satellite, then the ring LED shall blink amber.
  • Your router is now set to default factory settings.
