DIY Acne Treatments To Help You Banish That Blemish

DIY Acne Treatments To Help You Banish That Blemish

Summer is a comin’ which means sweaty, oily skin and annoying breakouts. So how does a lady battle these blemishes during the hot and humid days of summer so that she can rock an acne-free face?

Simply make sure to stock your kitchen with these 3 ingredients and you should be armed and ready to banish those blotches!

DIY Acne Treatments

Vinegar

It’s not just for salad dressings anymore girlfriend, and what’s even better about using vinegar to fight your acne problems is that it is daaammmn cheap! Something we love around these parts.

So how does it work? Well I’m so glad you asked.

All you have to do is grab a small bowl and add equal parts of purified water and vinegar. Then grab yourself a cotton ball, dip it into your vinegar water and dab it onto the areas where you are breaking out.

Vinegar, thanks to it’s acidity, can help to reduce redness and calm down any inflammation you may be suffering from when you get a breakout.

Just make sure you rinse your face off after 10 minutes at the most so you don’t run the risk of drying out your skin more than you want to.

Do this a few times during your breakouts and you should be able to zap those zits in no time!

Garlic

Mmmmmmm gaaaarrrlic. It’s one of my favourite hunger-inducing smells but did you also know that it can help with breakouts? Who woulda thunk it!

Well, my friend, it’s true! Garlic juice makes for a fab facial cleanser with antiseptic and antibacterial properties and is said to be an awesome, and natural, cure for acne.

All you ladies have to do is squish some garlic (pfffft easy!) and mix it into half a cup of warm water. Then just simply dip a clean facecloth, preferably cotton, into the water and wash your face with your garlic water mixture.

Make sure you let it sit on your skin for up to 10 minutes before rinsing your face with cool water.

And don’t worry, you won’t smell like a clove of garlic but you will have clear skin. Hell, I would take smelling like a clove of garlic if it meant I would have consistently clear skin.

Is it just me? *crickets*

Aloe Vera

Okay so it’s not exactly a kitchen ingredient but it is a common thing to have lying around your place, especially during those steamy summer months.

You see, the beauty of aloe is that not only is it an immunity booster but it also acts as a powerful anti-inflammatory which helps to gradually eliminate acne.

And in addition to that, it also helps to moisturize your sun-kissed skin after those long days out in the sun to keep it looking soft, supple, and youthful. Something we ladies always love!

Just simply apply a light layer to your face and let it sink in. It’s not exactly the most potent treatment out there but it should help clear up your skin if you aren’t feeling the vinegar or garlic treatments. And hey, while you’re at it, why not slather some aloe all over your body to keep it hydrated and super soft.
